December is this magical time with lots of Christmas customs to celebrate. Dressing the Christmas tree, decorating the house and garden trees and family baking gingerbread cookies are among those most enjoyable for certain. Our employees can add one more beautiful tradition to this list, because they have been engaged in the Noble Gift initiative for several years now. We are getting together to support people who especially need aid.
Every year, we celebrate this special moment of choosing the person or family we want to help out this time. This year, the story that have moved us the most, was that of Mr Franciszek, who has been facing his daily struggles alone for many years. Last weekend, popularly – and deservedly – known as the weekend of miracles, the parcels prepared by our employees to include white goods, clothing and textiles, as well as foodstuffs, were delivered to him.
However, this year the generosity of our team allowed us to exceed our plans and send aid to one more family in addition to Mr Franciszek. This way, we took Mr Adam and his son under our wings.
Doing the shopping and preparing the parcels was, like every activity at Commercecon, a sheer teamwork and we enjoyed all the bits of it. And our enjoyment doubled soon! Not only did we manage to fulfil all the wishes of those in need we chose from the Wiosna Association list, but we were also ‘returned the favour’ – Mr Franciszek sent us a basketful of delicious fruit from his orchard. Not only is this the most beautiful ‘thank you’, but also proof that good always comes back. Small gestures have enormous power!
Wishing a Merry Christmas to all the people supported by the Association and the unfailingly supportive Volunteers!
