Community activities are deeply rooted in our DNA, so it is natural for us to be involved in projects that support those most in need, including animals. This time, they turned out to be horses in the care of the Centaurus Foundation. We were delighted to receive an invitation from our long-standing business partner Panattoni for a unique project to benefit the foundation’s charges.
The Centaurus Foundation, supported by Panattoni BTS, has been rescuing horses, dogs, cats and other animal species for 16 years, giving them shelter in the centres it runs. Thanks to the organisation’s efforts, around 300 animals are given the chance of a second life each year. And now there could be even more. In 2022, thanks to the support of donors, the foundation purchased as much as 140 hectares of land in Modlimowo in the Griffin district and created another facility here – the ‘Safe Haven’. And it was this project that we took part in at the invitation of Panattoni representatives.
We build the fence, provide security
The huge plot of land in Modlimowo needed to be fenced – only such a secure area can be a refuge for more rescued animals. Therefore, without hesitation, we undertook to fence the entire site – we erected a 4,800-metre-long wooden fence with safety netting and made a mesh fence as long as 8,800 metres. We have also undertaken preparatory work for the creation of a new building on the Safe Haven site.
Helping animals in Łódź
This is not the first time we have been involved in helping the animals most in need. For years, together with the volleyball players of our team ŁKS Commercecon Łódź, we have been supporting the Animal Shelter in Łódź. Our Squirrels regularly donate a supply of pet food to the organisation, but what is hugely important is that they also promote pet adoption. Being aware of the enormity of the help that such centres need, we are therefore happy to join initiatives such as the one in Modlimov.
I have known Panattoni’s BTS division for many years. Together, we have completed a number of construction projects involving the creation of modern production and storage facilities. We are very happy that – in addition to professional cooperation – we can also work together for such a worthy cause.
