The 2025/2026 TAURON League pre-season kick-off gala of the ŁKS Commercecon Łódź team took place on Thursday, 25 September. It was a unique event this year, with the volleyball and basketball teams joining forces to create the Multi-Section Presentation. And all this with the participation and huge support of the best fans who crowded in big numbers outside the stadium on Aleja Unii that day.

ŁKS intends to focus on multi-sectional collaboration

Multi-sectional ŁKS is a project set up in March this year, the foundation of which is real collaboration between each of the sections of the club in various fields. The latest stage of the bond-strengthening partnership, the multi-section kick-off gala was organised to present three of the five sections that make up the project: ŁKS women’s basketball team, ŁKS CoolPack Łódź men’s basketball team and ŁKS Commercecon Łódź women’s volleyball team, who are the current Polish vice-champions and the most awarded 21st century team in Łódź. The event took place in a landmark location on the sports map of Łódź, and one that is special to every ŁKS fan: underneath the characteristic ‘intertwined’ club crest channel letters at the stadium at Aleja Unii 2. The basketball teams were introduced first, followed by our Squirrels running onto the stage, accompanied by the coaching staff.

New coaching staff, new players on the court

Fans were presented with our team’s full line-up, which included players known to the Łódź audience from the previous season, as well as those making their debut in the white, red and white club outfits. The middle blocker Anna Obiała again took up the team captain role. This season, ŁKS Commercecon Łódź will be managed by Adrian Chyliński, returning to the club after almost-two-year break. Lively as always, he took the occasion to promise the fans gathered that his team would be ‘lighting up’ the court with their game. His assistants will include Bartłomiej Bartodziejski, also making his comeback at Łódź after a break.

The presentation of all the teams ended with cheers of support from the fans and joining in the “Rodowici” anthem. The fans had the opportunity to take pictures with the team members, but also chat with their favourite athletes.

The first league test awaits our team this Saturday, 11 October, in Opole, where they will face the local Union. And a week later, taking on Metalkas Pałac Bydgoszcz, the Squirrels will make their debut in front of their wonderful audience, whose cheering they very much look forward to.
