The cornerstone laying ceremony for LemonTree’s latest project, BOOSTER Zabrze, of which we are the general contractor, took place on Wednesday, 3 April 2024. The development will ultimately offer more than 110,000 m2 of innovative service and logistics and office space, accompanied by a publicly accessible recreational and sports area.
BOOSTER Zabrze is a unique concept on the Polish market for a modern business complex with offices and service and logistics space. The LemonTree development, a company that creates high-end service and logistics space in prime locations, is being built in Zabrze, directly at the DTS intercity main road and the intersection of the A1 and A4 motorways.
Ceremonial laying of the foundation stone
Last Wednesday, the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone took place at the construction site, marking the start of construction work. The event was attended by: Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, President of Zabrze, Bartłomiej Krawiecki, CEO of LemonTree, and Hubert Hoffman, CEO of our company, which became the general contractor for this project. In keeping with tradition, a symbolic time capsule was hidden in the stone, which was set into place with joint efforts, along with a letter informing about the details of the project.
And BOOSTER Zabrze is a unique project. It is distinguished by its innovative space planning concept – with a comfortable zone for business and a public recreation and sports area, but also by the approach to the construction process for which we are responsible. We look forward to implementing many of the cutting-edge utility solutions that have been used in the most adventurous, environmentally friendly building projects to date.
Building with care for the environment
During construction, we will use low-emission materials and a range of innovative utility solutions. These will include CEM2 cement with a reduced carbon footprint, photovoltaics and heat pumps to power buildings, as well as bio-panels with marine algae used in innovation and testing. We will also use increased insulation in the walls and roof, and the reduced energy requirements will ensure adequate access to daylight. Also noteworthy is the building’s architecture, with a nature-inspired façade, the design of which was undertaken by the renowned studio Grupa 5 Architekci.
The Zabrze BOOSTER perfectly reflects the tenets of LemonTree’s strategy, which creates energy-efficient, low-carbon facilities that respect biodiversity and water and are an excellent long-term project for all stakeholders.
