Do you know what most often stops us from helping the injured in a life and health emergency? Fear and lack of confidence in their own abilities. At Commercecon, we have decided to change that! On the occasion of World First Aid Day, which this year fell on Saturday 14 September, we invited our employees to participate in a training session. What does it affect? From first aid, of course!

On 14 September this year, we celebrated World First Aid Day. Do we know how to give it? About 65 percent Poles declare that they would know how to give first aid in the event of an accident, but only one in five is completely confident in their first aid skills. Fear and lack of confidence in our own knowledge and skills are listed as the most common reasons for not choosing to help those whose health and lives are at risk. It is therefore not surprising to see the results of the survey, which shows that almost half of us are interested in improving our rescue skills and would like to learn how to administer first aid professionally.

And we have offered this opportunity to our employees. At Commercecon, we celebrated World First Aid Day a while early, but in the best possible way: by participating in a training session. These were conducted for us by an experienced paramedic from Medykszkolenia. Not only did we receive a large dose of theoretical knowledge, but above all we were able to undertake first aid operations in practice, such as:

  • cardiopulmonary resuscitation using phantoms and defibrillator;
  • airway obstruction in choking situations;
  • removing casualties from a smoking car;
  • stopping bleeding.

We believe that, equipped with the knowledge gained during the workshop, we will not be afraid to help.
