We are expanding the Intersnack warehouse in Nysa

We have been contracted by Intersnack, a leading salty snacks producer in Poland, to expand its factory warehouse in Nysa. Operating since 2019 in that location, the facility will gain over 5,000 square metres of extra advanced logistics space. We are delighted to come back to the Opole region five years after we succeeded in completing the first phase of this project – then, directly for Panattoni Poland.

The warehouse for Intersnack, owner of the well-known Polish salty snack brands Felix and Przysnacki, opened in 2019. Its location, which was just next to the existing production facility, was a logical choice resulting from the company’s dynamic growth and the need to streamline logistics processes.

In Nysa, there is a major task to complete for us. First of all, we are to carry out works at the interface with an operating facility, so we must proceed so as not to interfere with our client’s ongoing logistical operations or compromise the safety of its employees. On top of that, we have limited space around the building to be extended, which requires us to plan the construction logistics optimally and organise the site accordingly. Working on a ‘living system’, which is an operating production or warehouse facility, is always a major test for a general contractor. At Commercecon, we have compiled a portfolio of a number of successfully completed challenges, which – together with our profound familiarity with the initial site and a good record of past cooperation – helped clinch the decision to entrust us with this project.

The existing warehouse area of almost 10,000 square metres will be expanded by a further 5,200 square metres, with the entire space enclosed within a single form of building. This new project from the producer of salty snacks in Nysa means new jobs. To provide for this, we will be also involved in expanding an existing office area in addition to the necessary logistics space.

The scope of work for General Contractor also covers the road layout and vehicle circulation area realignment works, the installation of a specialist fire sprinkler system and the SSP (automatic fire alarm system), and the implementation of a building management system (BMS) in both the new and the existing part of the building. PV panels of around 50 kWp are planned for installation on the façades of the building, which is in line with Intersnack’s sustainability goals.
