We build for the food industry. A production building for Starmeat has been built in Koluszki.
We have completed the construction of a modern plant for Starmeat Daniel Katowicz, Henryk Ignatowicz Sp. z o.o., one of the largest producers of minced poultry meat in Europe. A production building with process equipment was built in Koluszki with a total area of 3,500 square metres. This is a result of the dynamic business growth of our client who is planning to spend PLN 80 million on new projects in the coming years.
Starmeat started operations in 2010, specialising in the production of functional additives for the food industry. After three years of operation, its production was focused on mechanically separated poultry. By investing in modern technology and ensuring high quality standards, the company has grown to become one of the largest producers of minced meat in Europe.
The building we have erected is located in Koluszki, next to the existing Starmeat plant. The 3,500 square metre facility houses a modern process section, a two-storey office and a machine room. A high-bay freezer building is a particularly noteworthy feature with its equipment supplied by Johnson Controls – the world’s leading supplier of industrial refrigeration solutions. The new facility also affords additional space for storing finished products and preserving optimum conditions for them.
It was the freezer building and the technology to be implemented in it presented us with an engineering challenge in the delivery of this project. Because a tight temperature regime must be maintained, we had to use materials and components that not only provide proper thermal insulation, but also have no contraindications for contact with food. As is typical of such projects, we needed to ensure that the building space dividers were of the highest standard, free of thermal bridges, and capable of maintaining the correct thermal and humidity parameters.
