We build for the food industry. Construction of a production hall for Starmeat in Koluszki
The end of the year is a busy time for us, with the launch of several projects. The latest is the construction of a modern plant for Starmeat Daniel Katowicz, Henryk Ignatowicz Sp. z o.o., one of the largest producers of minced poultry meat in Europe. In Koluszki, a production hall with process equipment is being built on a total area of 3,500 square metres. This is a result of the dynamic growth of our customer’s business, who is planning to spend PLN 80 million on new projects in the coming years.
Starmeat started operations in 2010, specialising in the production of functional additives for the food industry. After three years of operation, it focused on the production of mechanically separated poultry. By investing in modern technology and ensuring high quality standards, the company has grown to become one of the largest producers of minced meat in Europe.
The hall we are building will be located in Koluszki, next to the existing Starmeat plant. The 3,500 square metre facility will include a modern technology area, a two-storey office and a machine room. Of particular note is the high-bay freezer hall, the equipment for which will be supplied by Johnson Controls – the world’s leading supplier of industrial refrigeration solutions. The new facility will also provide additional space to store finished products and keep them in optimum conditions.
This freezer, and the technology that will be used in it, presents us with a engineering challenge in the implementation of this project. Because of the need to maintain a tight temperature, we have to use materials and components that not only provide adequate thermal insulation, but also have no contraindications for contact with food. In such projects, it is crucial to ensure that the building envelope is of the utmost quality, free of thermal bridges, and that the correct thermal and humidity parameters are maintained.
The project is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2024.
